SUMMER PICNIC/PARTY

KAY/LEMUS PICNIC PARTY EVENT

 

 

Ok so I have been asked to plan a summer picnic party event for Fernando’s family and mine to get to know each other better and money is no object!  Well this will be fun. 

 

The theme to our event will be called GET TO KNOW YOU!  The location will be at the Anchorage Inn at Ogunquit Beach Maine.  We will have private use of the indoor and outdoor pool and the premises overlooking the ocean.  There will be a huge white tent located on the lawn overlooking the ocean for us to use all day, like to ones that they use for weddings.  The invitation will be a picture of a pool and a beach and it will state: Please join us for a GET TO KNOW YOU! Summer picnic/party extravaganza.  Bring your appetite and your swimsuit for the time of your life. 

 

There will be three main food events for the day.  The morning will consist of a huge breakfast buffet in the tent.  This will be a morning social to get to know each other a little better.  The tent will be decorated with bright orange and yellow decorations including those large ball lanterns that hang from the top of the tent. There will be a band on site for soft music. The buffet will consist of pancakes regular and blueberry, French toast with cinnamon and bananas, crepes with assorted fillings and whip cream, scrambled eggs, omelets, sausage, bacon, ham, home fries, assorted muffins, Danish, and donuts.  Then of course there would be a huge display of fresh fruit. There will be plenty of assorted juices for the kids and a fountain of OJ and vodka for the adults. There also will be plenty of hot coffee and teas for their liking. 

 

After the social morning buffet, we will all head down to the beach for a little family competition.  Events will include a family volleyball game, Frisbee, soccer, and other activities. Out in the ocean there will be competitive water skiing or just cruising on the jet skis. On the shore, prizes will be given to the teams with the most creative sand sculptures. Finally, there will be a massive water balloon fight! This should help everyone bond a little better and have a great time

 

 

 

 

 

 

After several rounds of competition each family will be starving by then and we will move back up to the pool area for a clambake.  The tent will now be decorated with a seafood theme of lobsters, clams etc.  The band will now be playing exciting music and there will also be a DJ on site for dancing if anyone feels like it. The food will consist of ice sculptures with a raw bar of seafood.  Appetizers of scallops-n-bacon and crab cakes, followed by clam chowder, steamed clams and oysters, steamed lobsters, corn on the cob, salad, hot dogs and hamburgers.  For desert there will be lots and lots of cup cakes of all varieties, cheesecake, assorted cookies, and mini pastries.  There will be beer, wine, soda, and juice.  And a bikini martini waterfall for the adults. 

 

After all that food everyone will enjoy the two pools and the Jacuzzi. Or they can catch some rays.  But everyone will be expected to take the next two hours to get to know one member of the opposite family that they know nothing about as well as they can for the next round of competitions.  We will all gather around on the lawn after an afternoon at the pool and share our stories of what we discovered about our new family member and there will be a wonderful prize for the one that learns the most of their new family member!  This will allow all of us to get to know each other even better as we listen to each others stories. 

 

Now we need to move on to supper.  A huge Hawaiian luau!  The tent will be decorated in a tropical luau theme.  Everyone will receive Hawaiian lei.  There will be Hawaiian professional dancers on site for entertainment and lots of Hawaiian music.  The food will be very tropical with a huge display of tropical fruit and lots of tropical drinks.  The main course will consist of chicken luau, huli huli chicken, Spanish beef, barbeque chicken and ribs, spicy spaghetti, rice and black beans, and lastly sweet potatoes.  The deserts will consist of coconut pudding, chocolate macadamia cake, coconut cake, and a huge chocolate fountain.  We may even have a hula competition after the show. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ok so now we are all winding down and are getting very tired so as soon as dark approaches we will all gather on the beach for a bon fire with marshmallows to end the long day and say our goodbyes.  Hopefully everyone will have established a much closer relationship with each other and all have GOT TO KNOW YOU a little better.
